ABOUT ME
I am a singer, artist, writer, teacher and seamstress living, working and mothering in the Garden of England.
My creative work is inspired by Mother Nature, my imagination, spiritual realms, and the day to day hum drum of being mum to a little one.
I lead a Singing Mamas group every Monday morning and the occasional Saturday. We sing together to create calm and community. It’s the highlight of my week, and lots of my members say the same.
I have written, recorded and self-released two albums. The first, LOVE ALWAYS WINS, documents the treacherous journey out of a lifetime of depression and was written alongside work with shamanic healers and medicines from the Amazon. My second album COME HOME was self-recorded in lockdown and as the title hints, is the story of home coming. During lockdown I fell in love with my local landscape and started to find a calm and stable inner landscape. I am currently working on my third album.
My sewing is a part of my prayer and meditation practice. I hand-sew by lamp light whilst my baby sleeps. Each stitch is infused with intention. I make wonky and loveable toys for my boy and self-designed garments. As a dressmaker I am inspired by Kroj (folk costume) from Eastern Europe and historical workwear and smocks from England. I work in natural materials with a preference for linen and use heavy gathering and smocking to create feminine, floaty and comfortable clothing.
As well as teaching in person I have a number of online classes available on Skillshare including hand sewing, singing and DIY Album production.
I love walking, making blueberry pancakes, baking and writing in my journal. My two Bobbys, my partner and my boy, are the centre of my world.
